At Centre de formation Mwangaza (Tshangu, Kinshasa), the Integrity Club reported on EduCheck: insufficient quantity of materials. Within 85 days and through « Advocacy », the project fixed the problem; the monitors checked the fix on site.

The « Latrines séparées filles / garçons » project is meant to improve Centre de formation Mwangaza (Tshangu, Kinshasa). Student monitors of the school’s Integrity Club, trained by the Anti-Corruption Research Centre (CERC), follow the works with the EduCheck questionnaire to check that what was promised is delivered.

The problem

On 12 December 2025, the Integrity Club reported the following problem at Centre de formation Mwangaza: insufficient quantity of materials.

Materials that were paid for must reach the site: every diverted bag means a weaker building.

The problem was published on the school’s page and sent to the project management committee and the contractor.

The dialogue

The monitors opened a dialogue with the project management committee and the contractor:

  • Advocacy

The result

The fix was recorded on 7 March 2026, 85 days after the report.

During their visit on 11 October 2026, the monitors checked the fix on site: the problem moved to « Verified » on EduCheck.

This success shows what citizen monitoring makes possible: a problem made visible, a dialogue with the right people and a verified solution, for the benefit of pupils.
