At Centre de formation Les Volcans (Funa, Kinshasa), the Integrity Club reported on EduCheck: lessons given by unqualified teachers. Within 76 days and through « Advocacy », the school fixed the problem.

Centre de formation Les Volcans welcomes its pupils every day in Funa (Kinshasa). Like other schools followed by EduCheck, it has an Integrity Club: student monitors trained by the Anti-Corruption Research Centre (CERC) to observe their school with a shared questionnaire, report problems on EduCheck and talk with those in charge until they are solved.

The problem

On 30 January 2026, the Integrity Club reported the following problem at Centre de formation Les Volcans: lessons given by unqualified teachers.

The quality of teaching depends first on qualified teachers being in front of the pupils.

The problem was published on the school’s page and sent to the school management.

The dialogue

The monitors opened a dialogue with the school management:

  • Advocacy

The result

The fix was recorded on 16 April 2026, 76 days after the report.

The monitors will check the fix during their next visit; the problem will then move to « Verified ».

This success shows what citizen monitoring makes possible: a problem made visible, a dialogue with the right people and a verified solution, for the benefit of pupils.
