Illustration : accessibilité

At École primaire Tujenge (Mont-Amba, Kinshasa), the Integrity Club reported on EduCheck: buildings not accessible to people living with disabilities. Within 152 days and through « Funding from an external partner », the school fixed the problem.

École primaire Tujenge welcomes its pupils every day in Mont-Amba (Kinshasa). Like other schools followed by EduCheck, it has an Integrity Club: student monitors trained by the Anti-Corruption Research Centre (CERC) to observe their school with a shared questionnaire, report problems on EduCheck and talk with those in charge until they are solved.

The problem

On 29 December 2025, the Integrity Club reported the following problem at École primaire Tujenge: buildings not accessible to people living with disabilities.

Every step without a ramp keeps out pupils living with disabilities, who have the same right to school as everyone else.

The problem was published on the school’s page and sent to the school management.

The dialogue

The monitors opened a dialogue with the school management:

  • Funding from an external partner

The result

The fix was recorded on 30 May 2026, 152 days after the report.

The monitors will check the fix during their next visit; the problem will then move to « Verified ».

This success shows what citizen monitoring makes possible: a problem made visible, a dialogue with the right people and a verified solution, for the benefit of pupils.
